Leicestershire and Rutland Festival Of Remembranec
Sunday, 30 October 2016

On Saturday 29th October, Harborough Band performed at the Leicestershire and Rutland Festival of Remembrance at the De-Montfort Hall in Leicester.

Following on from an afternoon rehearsal, Harborough Band provided the music for the muster to begin the evenings proceedings.

Under our new musical director, Brad Turnbull, Harborough Band then provided the first entertainment of the evenings concert, playing Enter the Galaxies, Shepherds Song, Festival March - Britannia, Fields of Gold - a Flugel solo by Darren Harris, and concluded with The Melody Shop.

The concert then prodeeded with the excellent Thurmaston Scout and Guide Marching Band, and the Chillwell Military Wives Choir.

The audience then got their chance to show they were in fine voice with a sing along led by the band and choir.

With accompanyment by the magnificent organ on the stage and the band, the proceedings ended with a Drum Head service and act of remembrance.

Harborough Band are proud to have been part of such a magnificent evening, which marks the start of the poppy appeal for 2016.
The band will be supporting local services of remembrance on Sunday 13th November, and will perform their regular concert at Market Harborough Baptist Church on Saturday 19th November, starting at 7:30pm.
